Withered
A granite with a characteristically ‘naturally weathered’ surface — a material whose unique appearance is the result of natural geological processes rather than artificial treatment. Unlike most granites, Withered does not aim for evenness and brilliance: its beauty lies in its inhomogeneity, in the way thin mineral layers build a muted, multi-layered colour with hidden depth.
The dominant tonality is a coolish grey-beige with barely perceptible ochre and warm inclusions that reveal themselves only on close inspection. Its textural variations — all but invisible from across a room, unmistakable up close — give the surface a tactile life that no synthetic stone reproduces. Raw or flamed, that quality only sharpens: the stone reads as though it has stood centuries in the open air.
Density 2,630 kg/m³, water absorption 0.24% and compressive strength 160 MPa ensure reliability outdoors; flexural strength is 18 MPa. Abrasion of 0.65 g/cm² indicates it is best suited to vertical structures and landscape installations. Particularly expressive in contemporary architectural schemes where the stone’s natural authenticity is the key design accent.
